Warranty Policy

Every COMOLADO part is covered against manufacturing defects. This page explains how long cover lasts, what it includes, what it does not include, and how to make a claim.

Coverage periods

Warranty cover starts on the date of delivery, not the date of order. The periods below apply to every part we sell.

Stage Period from delivery What we do
Dead on arrival (DOA) 7 days Part does not work when first fitted or arrives physically damaged in transit: replacement or refund, with return shipping on us.
Standard warranty 90 days Defects in materials or workmanship under normal use: replacement of the same part, or refund if no replacement is available.

An extended warranty is not offered at this stage. A replacement part does not restart the warranty clock: cover runs from the delivery date of the original order, and any replacement is covered for the remainder of that period. Warranty cover applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

What is covered

  • Defective parts. Keys that never register, keys that stick or repeat without being pressed, backlight zones that fail or illuminate unevenly on backlit models, and touchpads that lose click, tap or cursor response.
  • Dead on arrival (DOA). A part that is faulty when it arrives, including damage caused during transit to you.
  • Wrong item shipped. You receive a part that does not match what your order confirms — a different layout, colour, connector type or model.
  • Ribbon cable and connector faults. Broken traces, failed crimps or connectors that do not make contact when the part is fitted without force.
  • Early failure under normal use. The part works on arrival and then fails within the warranty period without external cause.

What is not covered

  • Accidental damage. Drops, impacts, crushed parcels opened carelessly, cracked keycaps, snapped mounting clips or bent housings.
  • Normal wear. Fading, polishing or softening of key surfaces, worn scissor clips after extended use, and cosmetic marks that do not affect function.
  • Improper installation. Damage caused by forcing a connector, inserting a ribbon cable the wrong way round, over-tightening screws, or prying a bonded assembly apart.
  • Water damage and contamination. Liquid spills, corrosion, dust or debris ingress, and damage from cleaning agents.
  • Unauthorized repair or modification. Disassembly, soldering, trimming, adhesive re-bonding or any alteration carried out by you or a third party outside our instructions.
  • Incorrect model ordered. A part that does not fit because the wrong model or layout was ordered is a returns matter, not a warranty claim — see Returns & refunds.
  • Damage to your laptop. Our warranty covers the part we supplied, not the device it is fitted to, and not labour or third-party repair charges.

We inspect every returned part. If the fault falls outside these exclusions we will tell you why, with photographs, before closing the claim.

How to make a claim

  • Email us. Write to sale@comolado.com with the subject line "Warranty claim" and include your order number.
  • Describe the fault. Tell us the exact laptop model, which part you received, when it was delivered, and what happens now (for example: three keys do not respond; the backlight is dark on the left half).
  • Send photos or a short video. Photos of the part and its label, the connector and cable, and the packaging if it arrived damaged. A short video showing the fault — keys not registering in a keyboard tester, or the touchpad not responding — lets us approve most claims without a return.
  • Wait for authorisation. Do not send anything back before we confirm. We will reply with the resolution and, where a return is needed, a return address and instructions.
  • Return the part if asked. Pack it as it arrived, include everything that came with it, and mark the outside with the returns reference we give you.

How claims are resolved

  • Replacement first. Where the same part is in stock, we ship a replacement at no charge. This is the default resolution for confirmed defects.
  • Refund if no replacement is available. If we cannot supply an equivalent replacement within a reasonable time, we refund the price paid for the part, including the outbound shipping you paid for it.
  • Refund instead of replacement on request. For DOA claims you may ask for a refund rather than a replacement, provided the part is unused or returned in the condition it arrived.
Step Target time
First reply to your claim Within 2 business days
Assessment decision after photos or video Within 3 business days
Replacement dispatched after approval Within 3 business days, then normal transit times
Refund issued after approval or after the return arrives Within 5 business days

If your country's consumer law gives you stronger rights than this policy, those rights apply and nothing here removes them. Items returned without prior authorisation, or returned as a different item than the one we shipped, cannot be processed.
