Fujitsu LifeBook Keyboard Replacement Guide
LifeBook keyboards are service-friendly: most E-series and A-series models use a top-mounted keyboard released from above, with no full teardown. This page covers the E7xx family (E733/E734/E743/E744 and relatives - the same design generation as the E754), the A-series, and single-key repairs, with videos for each.

Our own walkthrough for the LifeBook E733/E734/E743/E744, U745, E546/E547/E544, E736 and E746 family. The E754 follows the same design and the same steps.
Steps (top-mounted LifeBook design)
- Shut down, unplug, and remove the battery. Hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual charge.
- Check the bottom cover for keyboard screws - on LifeBooks they are often marked with a keyboard icon - and remove them.
- From the top, release the trim strip / retaining clips along the edge of the keyboard nearest the screen. Work gently with a plastic spudger; the strip is the part most easily cracked, so never lever against it with metal.
- Tilt the keyboard up towards the screen and flip it over onto the palmrest. Do not pull - the ribbon cable is still attached.
- Open the ZIF connector's locking flap (it flips up), slide the ribbon cable out, and lift the keyboard away. Photograph the label on its underside: the CP part number (for example CP767116-01) is the surest way to match a replacement - see how to find your keyboard part number.
- Fit the new keyboard in reverse: cable in straight and fully home, flap closed, keyboard seated, clips and screws back. Reconnect the battery and test every key before you finally press the trim home.
Connector handling and fault-finding are covered in depth in our general guide: How to Replace a Laptop Keyboard.
A-series models (AH512 / AH531 and similar)
The A-series follows the same top-mounted logic with its own screw and clip positions; this step-by-step video (How-FixIT) shows the full removal and refit on the AH512/AH531.
Only one key broken?
If a single keycap has popped off or its hinge has snapped, you do not need a whole keyboard - the cap and hinge can be replaced on their own. This video shows the job on the LifeBook E754:
Keycap and hinge kits for LifeBook models are coming to our keycaps section soon. Until then, ask us - we can usually supply individual keys for the models we stock keyboards for.
